Sharing this heartwarming story of Michael Smith who survived a gunshot wound a year ago largely due to a prehospital blood transfusion before surgery. “The transfusion allowed the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist’s Air Care Team to fly Smith to the hospital, get him into the emergency room, and into surgery immediately.”
